You know the feeling, you’ve been working very hard with long hours and work pressures.  The critical project is over and now suddenly you’re exhausted and too tired to do anything.  That’s fine for a week or even a couple of weeks while you rebuild, but what if after that you’re still the same?

Or you’ve had an operation, a severe illness or even the flu.  You’ve recovered, but you just can’t get your energy back?

Diet is, of course, important in providing the essential nutrients to create energy, but sometimes you need a little more.  There are a number of herbs which are known for building up strength and these play a big part in our dispensary in helping to improve energy.

Strength of a Horse

Ashwagandha is a key herb to build up energy, stamina and muscular strength – so it’s also good for those who have over-trained.  It helps with stress, overwork, insomnia and nervous exhaustion.  There are a number of studies which show it supports the system during chemotherapy and radiation treatment.  The translation for Ashwagandha is “strength of a horse” and that’s what it does for us too.

Ashwagandha improves poor memory and poor concentration – often a side effect of long periods of overwork.  Because of its effect on the brain, Ashwagandha is also used in attention deficit disorder.

Get your mental stamina back

Siberian Ginseng is another herb used as a cancer support and in attention deficit.  As a treatment for overwork and low energy, it improves blood flow to the brain and improves memory, concentration and overall mental stamina.  It’s also a very good herb for athletes as it’s anti-fatigue and improves endurance.

Finally Korean Ginseng is also good for memory, endurance, post-operative recovery and resilience.

To regain your strength choose wisely!

There are many versions of ginseng in the shops, not all of them pure, so a word of caution.  The source of your herbal formulation and how it’s farmed is very important.  In the clinic we use herbs which are farmed biodynamically and organic (where possible).  We know they come from a trusted source and so will have a powerful effect.

Make sure you have a close match

In addition, the particular herb must be matched to the person.  If the wrong herb is given or taken in the wrong circumstances instead of building energy, it can create a false energy, which ends up depleting you further!  So please come and talk to us and let us help you build back up.  You can contact us on info@freshperceptions.com.
